Ozarks Meetup 2012

Oh, if anyone still hasn't gotten a reservation let me know. One of the ladies who deals with reservations is going to call me if anything opens up, and she said there should be a few openings in the 2 weeks leading up to the weekend. She's not convinced all the Windrider people will show.

I emailed them and requested to be apart of the rooms set aside for motovloggers and to be in a double if at all possible. I did that in march i believe and they responded right away and said I had a room. However, I have no idea what a double costs... anyone happen to know? Also, I may be riding down with a buddy (who would be the second bed), but he hasnt finalized his work plans just yet.

Hey guys, you can take my name off the list for this year.
I have had something come up and will not be able to make it.

Always next year.

Damn you! 100% attendance my ass!

Oh, something else. If anyone cancels and is going to be cancelling a reservation, hold onto it and let me know. No reason to let a room go when there's atleast one person still trying to get in.

GPX files are made! If anyone is using a Garmin GPS and would like to have the files to load onto their unit just let me know.

I have a lot of work to do still... I'm getting my bike rejetted/dyno tuned in about 2 weeks. I have to install my new headlight and speedometer, and I still have to figure out how to strap down my aux fuel tank.

Good luck with that. Hope it doesn't screw up your bike as much as it did LJ's. Seemed like that bike never ran right after she did all that engine work to it.

Sounds like a good weekends worth of work to me. Get to it!

Get on the ball Bitch.. LOL... I have a room at the Inn now. You gotta show up :D

Got back from the RAT Raid. A few things:

The HUB is a great motel. Concrete walls mean you won't hear your neighbors headboard hitting the wall in a rythmic beat. The owners are on-site and very friendly and will do everything they can to make you feel welcome. This is a biker motel. No reason for anyone else to be there, so there's plenty of safe parking with like-minded folks. There is nothing else around it, except for the on-site restaurant (which is pretty decent). So once you get back to the motel expect to settle down unless you want to make a run 10 miles or so into Jasper or Harrison. Jasper is dead after 9 p.m.

Bring some cash! I ran into a couple of gas stations that didn't take a debit card, lol. And please - know your bikes range! Knowing "about" how far you can go will cause you some worries. :)

Does anyone know for a fact they need a room at the Hub? I am canceling mine but before I do PM me so I get the email notification.

Nope. I have a lot going on and other things I must attend are over lapping the dates. I'm actually pissed about some of those things but can't do one thing about them.

Correction. The bike is actually at exactly the intervals of "not running right" that it should be for the mileage I've put on it. You put 30,000 on a dirt bike in less than 24 months and see if you're not having to adjust valves, replace clutch plates, replace wheel bearings and fork seals, etc.

All issues are addressed, except the transmission now. Engine is rock solid, otherwise. And *every* single mechanic I've talked to has said that for how many miles/hours I have on my bike-- with track time and offroad time and long highway to boot (*especially track and offroad, both of which are very abusive to clutch and transmission)-- it makes perfect sense that I would start having transmission issues right about now. It's just at that point. 30,000 on a dirt bike is like 150,000 on a car, by randomly generated analogy.

The bike started having issues as the *mileage* and *abuse* went up, not the mods. The mods just happened to coincide about the same time. Of the issues I've been having, it's been generally agreed up by every mechanic who has worked on my bike that the bore/carb/etc. had nothing to do with it. It was simple wear and tear.

I'm not sorry for the rant. I'm sick of hearing, "You shouldn't have messed with it." The truth is more accurately: "You shouldn't have rode the damn thing into the ground!"

</rant>

On a much lighter note, I got my official "you're free to go" paperwork back from my boss, so I'm officially back in for this! Still riding with Dodge. Still not taking the KLX at this point. Can't afford new clutch plates in time.
