Youtube Category

Hey vloggerz. Just wondering what category you have your motovlog channel set at. If you go to Creator Studios and go Channel then go under Upload Defaults, it tells you the category you've selected. Mine is People & Blogs but now I'm considering changing it to Entertainment. I just wanted to know what everyone else has as their category. Cheers!

I have mine set for entertainment.

Seems like a lot of the big channels are set to people & blogs, but I suspect they switched to that once they got big.

I leave mine under Autos & Vehicles because I never got around to changing the default from when I set it a few years ago lol

You can batch change videos if you go into the video manager. Just click the More option and Category.

if not , id say people and blogs then.


Entertainment would be more for, skit shows , short movies etc.

I'm just switched mine to Entertainment to see if it boosts views at all. If it doesn't, I'll switch back to People & Blogs. I wish YouTube was less opaque about this sort of thing.

It makes a difference for people who habitually browse certain channels. Like some people might only ever browse Auto and never think to look in people and blogs. I never used to look in People & Blogs until I saw other motovloggers were in there.

Ya YouTube will suggest similar channels to people with certain browsing history

YouTube only uses that when your channel is small. Eventually they will completely ignore it once they figure out what your channel is about so don't worry about it too much.

Same with tags.

I have Entertainment selected but people & blogs also is good.

I might try switching to entertainment to see if it makes any difference in exposure of my videos haha but I have a feeling it doesn't matter too much.

Mine has always been on entertainment. not sure how much difference it would make to change it...hmm
