Your First Video?

I finally have all my gear ready to go and a nice list of topics to talk about, however, I don't know what to start with. What was your first video like? Did you introduce yourself? Did you just get right to it? Let's hear (or see) about your first video!
 
I would say just do a quick introduction like when you met someone for the first time and leave us wanting to watch more of your vids to find out more
 
My first videos are on dvd for drunken party entertainment with friends, but my first one on youtube was actually a pushbike vlog to document a fitness improvement that never happened! My first motovlog talked about who I watch on youtube. That could be a good idea for you?

Well, my first vlog was, my first video was a road on the Pennines...

Always amuses me when in first vlogs people say " I hope you can hear me ". Quite simply, you should have tested your rig first and secondly, would you publish a vlog with no audio?! :)
 
Deffinitly do an intro, Do a 5-7 min video on you! What you channel will be about ect Then branch off and intro your bike, riding gear, ect!
 
My first one happened to have the police pulling me over, so I kind of just jumped right in. The next two videos I used to introduce myself.
 
My 1st video gave a general intro to the channel, what to expect to see on the channel and what I am using to record.

I had no experience using any video editing software and hadn't prepared what I was going to say.


It's well over a year old now, I want to do a new channel trailer to replace this video for 1st time viewers get a better 1st impression.
 
My first vids on YouTube were songs from a band I used to play in with some artwork for visuals. My first motovlog was called Ride to the Goatman's Bridge and it was me taking a trip to a supposedly haunted bridge in Texas. The audio was pretty crummy and the editing was poor, but I think the subject matter was still interesting, at least if you like haunted stuff. It's still on my channel if you want to see it.

Another tip, make and upload 5 or so videos before you publish any of them. People who check you out will usually look to see what you have, and if its only 1 or 2 videos they will probably think "I'll come back later" and then forget about you. If they see a bunch of videos already, they are more likely to sub... just my opinion :)
 
I kind of did a little intro and then ranted about Work. In then end figured people probably wouldn't be that interested in me saying what my vlogs would be like so I just hit the ground running.

Turns out people don't view my shit anyways :D. However I still believe "Vlog it and they will come" so I am playing the waiting game.

I has only been a month, anyways just do what you feel is right. Let us know when the first vid is up so I can view it.

Do an intro! :) Let everyone know about you, your riding experience, your ride, why you decided to vlog, etc.
 
Sooner or later I will watch someone's first video (unless they are over 200 vids) very nice to see where they come from and how they perceived themselves.
 
First one wasn't planned at all, was still testing the setup (especially audio), since it started raining on the way home, just decided to do one on the spot. The rest, as they say, is his-story. More like his-ramblings.

There was glorious and grand ideas about how I wanted to structure the episodes, what to start with, topics that flow from one into the next episode, blablabla, in the end too much planning. Happy with the current way I have, which is a mess. LoL.
 
I rode out to some abandoned house in the country to explore it, I made 3 or 4 videos out of that day (i also stopped at a lake) and just acted like they had already been watching my videos for years. Like we were already old friends, maybe I should still do an introduction video. I figured that was what the about page was for tho.

I just heard about the "goatman's bridge" here in louisville...Odd huh? wonder how many of them there are around the country :)

I don't know, but I've always wondered. There was a goat man legend in Waco when I lived there who supposedly lived in Cameron Park. I actually lived in a neighborhood next to the park and spent many nights thrashing around in the woods, but never saw any goat men. Goat man stories seem to be pretty pervasive.
 
Be creative by thinking up some key points you believe would make for an interesting video, and just be yourself. This was actually my third attempt, yet I didn't prepare any key points.
