Yamaha YBR
Honda GG, Varadero, YZF-R125, CBR125
Suzuki EN

They're the ones off the top of me head :)

I'd always recommend a Honda Varadero 125. They hold their value very well and feel like a big bike.

Id have to agree with this, im a big guy and the varadero was a brilliant bike, felt decent size and didnt lack in power too much (for a 125 that is)

they arent the cheapest to buy though, even second hand

The CG is also a good bike, but you will look out of place on it if you are more than 5 foot 10

well im only 5 foot 6 so im really small for and 18 year old, but i've sat on a load of bikes and i think supermoto's are very low compared to most others, this is another reason i dont want to go for a supersports kind of bike because i just cant seem to fit on them and if i come up to traffic lights im proper leaning the bike

Whats your budget? I have a YBR thats going in 2 weeks for £1500 unless I get a better offer!

Re: whats a good beginner 125cc motorbike 2010 model or befo

i wont have the money within two weeks, so it'd be a waste of time if i said yes, wish i could but thanks for the offer :D

Re: whats a good beginner 125cc motorbike 2010 model or befo

I bought a Honda CBF125 - the bike is fine, it's reliable as anything and one of the most frugal on petrol that you can possibly get. Because of that, it's probably one of the more boring 125s out there. If you're going to be riding the 125 for a while then consider do you want to do it for enjoyment or to limit the petrol money to/from work/school/college. If it's enjoyment the YBR or CBR look like good options.

Obviously I'm biased but Pulse Adrenaline (or any of its cousins: Sinnis Apache, Superbyke RMR) are bloody good bikes! Ok they're chinese, but underneath they're suzuki! Engine, switchgear etc amazing fuel economy, if they're run in well they get good top speed! Mine tops out at just below 80 plus parts are cheap and easy to get!

But on the otherhand, when I got mine and had about another £2000, I wouldve got a CBF :P

That was a YBR, you can practice your googling skills for the rest :P

To be absolutely honest, all commuter 4 stroke 125's do the same. They build up your roadcraft and teach you how to use every gear and their limits. Best thing to look out for it 4 strokes, in my opinion anyway. Purely because they have amazing mpg and are very reliable for lasting you 5-10 years at least!

Buy him some plastic models. When I was a kid, we built customized models. We painted them candy apple red, lowered them, and built our "dream" cars.
