Hi @Dewey316,

Welcome to MotoVlog.com.
Where are you from? What do you ride? Say hello, what do you like? Why are you here?

Got a photo of your bike?

Hello, thanks for the welcome.

I am out of Portland, OR. Although, I am starting a moto vlog channel as in 18 months or so (covid behind us, i hope) I will be doing an around the world ride for 12-18 months (or until the money runs out). I figure now is a good time to start putting up content and build some followers before I head out on the really big trip.

I started an account here, so I can get advice and feedback on stuff as I work through the process of getting better at making stuff that is interesting to watch.

Here are my current bikes, I've had other along the way. I've been riding for 15 years and have over 150k miles of riding.

I haven't finished putting up my first video yet, I am working through getting a few video's put together initially so I am not behind on putting things out.

2018 Suzuki DR650 - This is the bike I am building to ride around the world on.

And last but not least, the ride I can't get rid of. This was the first motorcycle I bought, and I keep holding on to it, because it means so much to me. I don't even really ride it anymore, but I have it, and that makes me happy.

650 will be an amazing bike to do it on.

I hope so. I decided I wanted something lighter and simpler than the BMW for being in remote places and a trip that long. I wanted the ability to at least try to fix it myself as needed. We will find out. I bought it brand new, and took the whole thing apart with 38 miles on it to build it up the way I wanted for the long haul. Doing a trip like that, I want to be able to document it well, so I am taking the time now to get better at filming and editing and trying to put interesting stuff together so when I do it, I can have a good record of it.

Welcome to the group! My family has lived in Portland since the late 80’s, where my mother, sister and her kids now live as well. Great city and area for riding, and one day I hope to ride there as well (I’m on the East coast)

Love the world travel plan. It took me a bit of trial and error to ease into the pace and process of motovlogging - commenting while riding, and setting up camera(s) on and off the camera. Good sound is a big part of the process too. Plan well and enjoy the ride.

Yeah. I am still working to get that set right. Especially with my dual sport helmet. I will keep working on finding a location and mic setup that will work. My road helmet is much better for noise. I still have to run it through pretty aggressive noise reduction to clip out the unwanted noises.

Welcome to the forum and what a fantastic adventure you have planned! I reckon the 650 will be perfect for the trip!

I look forward to checking out your content.

Welcome, and wow a RTW trip! That's adventurous, I'd be happy with just doing an Around the US trip!
