Hi All

I'm Simon Aka black-rider.
I'm a total newbie and would love to start vlogging on my GSX-R, however still don't know where to start lol .
I'm from Newark on Trent Nottinghamshire and i went all the way down to Ipswich the other day to get my GoPro HD Hero 2, from orwell motorcycles (thank you guys absolutely great).
I'm yet to test in on the bike, but it looks like i wont be able to talk when its on the helmet, as ive tested it in a car and the sound was way to quiet to understand what was said but i guess i will find a way.

All the best.

Simon

welcome to the forums =) well I think you can get a microphone to plug into it, then run the wire up behind all the padding and have the mic in the cheekrest where the strap comes through, looking foreward to the first vlog.

Ride safe,

Michael

Funny, the first person who replies is from France and this time next weekend will be over in Belgium on a bikers weekend lol.

I've the GoPro as well mate and you do need an external mic, which thankfully the GoPro 2 supports. The stock casings don't provide a hole for it, so you can either buy the skeleton housing that has a slot down the left side providing access to all the necessary ports or do what I did and realise I probably won't ever use the full waterproof housing, so I drilled a hole in the side of it :P

If I ever need a full housing I'll just buy that one separately :)

Yeah the Hero2 is the first with an external mic connection. You'll need a mic with a 3.5mm jack.
From what I can tell though you can't use it within the housing unless you drill a hole in the side or buy the skeleton housing so the cables can come out. However I'm guessing this now means it's not waterproof.

Hi all.

1 step closer to my first vlog now ,just paid for the LCD BacPac and skeleton housing for my GoPro HD Hero 2, so after they arrive all i need then is the mic ,which will be harder to find.

All the best.

The mic was my biggest problem too mate. I ended up getting one from ebay for a couple quid (plus another couple for postage) and it seems to do the job.

Hello Simon. Welcome along. I'm new to this too so keep learning new things. Spent a fair bit of time trying to get the mic in the right position and I keep losing the sponge windshield :-} Be good to see your first video.
