Too powerful for me?

Hey peeps,
As you have seen me write, Im getting a Honda CBR600F on Thursday this week.

Was just wondering if I was to give it full throttle, would there be danger of the front wheel popping up if the clutch was already out?

all depends how fast you rip the throtal back on my 125 it lifts. so id just say take it easy untill you are comfy with the responce and you know if it will and you can feel when it wants to lift so just ease off the throatal a bit
 
Restricted its unlikely, but just be careful, you don't need full throttle unless you are riding aggressively anyway, and i wouldn't suggest it until you become confident on the bike.
 
If it's restricted, there's no way in hell you'll get that front wheel up if the clutch is already engaged. Unrestricted in 1st gear at like 10mph then maybe.
 
Any reason in particular you're planning on doing that? Just ride sensibly, it'll be perfectly exciting enough, I can assure you.

Hehe I wasn't planning. But there has been a few times on the 125 that ive been lane splitting through traffic in brighton, and just as i get to the front the lights turn green and the traffic tries to move away, So ive had to bomb it a little bit so as to not get crushed by cagers =/

Even then on the 125 the chassis of the body flew up a decent amount.

Just dont want to be caught off guard thats all. :D

The bike won't do anything you don't tell it to, just remember to be smooth and you will be fine, if you are jerky on the throttle the bike will be jerky, so just be smooth when you give it throttle.

I tried this today on my CBR600F because I didn't think it was possible.

Its not. I tried it in a bunch of gears. Nothing really happened apart from I went really really quick. Not much out of the ordinary for a CBR600F there.

I know there will be quite a few differences between a 1989 bike and a 2011 bike but I really don't think it'll pull wheelies if you just pull back on the throttle while the clutch is out, it really isn't powerful enough for that.
 
If you are restricted it won't happen, the bike is too heavy. Once she is un-restricted you shouldn't be thinking about doing wheelies, get use to controlled acceleration first.
 
I have had my front end come up a little bit in 1st gear when my bike was unrestricted for a little while, it does happen.

Lol im not practising. Its fine.

I can full throttle it without it popping up.

Today I did a scenetic bike ride with a pillion passenger and when she wanted me to give it the beans it popped the front wheel up..
Maybe the extra weight on the back of the bike made it do so?
