Hey guys

Im looking for a 125cc motorcycle as I'll be on a CBT so what bike would you guys recommend?
I need one to get to college.

Yamaha YBR and Honda CG are the cheapest big brand bikes; both reliable and cheap. Then you've got the Honda CBR, Yamaha YZF alongside the Italian two strokes for something with a bit more style and speed.

There's also the Chinese 125s but results will vary. Some are bombproof, some have engines made of soft cheese with suspension akin to trifle.

Honda CG125: cheap, 100% reliable, good bike.

Please try to avoid a Chinese bike, it will rust, it will probably break down. Some of them look pretty, but they're mosty naff! (Note: some Asian brands are OK like 'Sym', but in general Chinese bikes are rubbish, I know, I owned a 'Kinroad' for 1 year)

Aprila RS 125

. Big tyers
. Good brakes
. Nice Riding Postion
. Quick
. Good Looking
. Cheap to insure
. Easy Maintence (If Previous Owner Looked After It)
. Cheap To Replace Parts

Only bad thing is engine needs to be looked after, rebuilds every 11k and well cleaned an oiled. Treat her wrong she'll treat you wrong (same for all bikes really)

Azzer I do actually like 2 strokes though, maybe I'll look at one.
Dont like YBRs pizzaonaninja, but I do like the CBR 125 r.

AZZ3R, do you have to mix 2 stroke with the fuel on RS 125s?

Firstly accept that a 125 is not really going to be cool and flashy.

The CG + 125R are both great, would be my recommendations.

I went more on looks and the "not wanting to have a shitty 125" and got a Sachs XTC. In fairness, mine was great, German made but has known issues. I wouldn't really recommend the XTC, but it was great for me.

Cbf 125, bit less old fashioned, but still a solid bike.

No, There is a seprate tank for oil (under the seat) it premix's its self.

Just take note, what ever 2T(2 Stroke) you get make sure the oil is Fully Synthetic other wise it will burn the oil too quick and look like a steam train.

Bare inmind think of your budget, not just of the bike.

-Insurance
-Gear

This is true I went of that & my boss had one over 10 years ago and he told/taught me everything about them so I went with that, aswell as it didn't lack in power so playing keep up with a friends 250 was easy enough and it looked th part too (From 4-5ft away, upclose is another story)

You want to choose it on practicality, if your just going to ride it to college/work and back and put it in your garage/shed at the end of each day then you want a bike which will start and run first time and everytime.

The RS needs lot of looking after, possibly a strip down once every 2months just too make sure it's all running smooth, but I always say if you don't do the things that need doing how will you know how to do them.

Just gunna put it out there as there aweosme dt125 there quick off the line built to last and if you do have a spill only costs mabey a fiver for a new lever thats it iv fliped mine and only done a fiver worth of dammage and came off on grass and broke a leaver thats it XD

theres also the rieju rs2/rs3 125 they are 4 stroke so rather reliable, but our mate has a cbr125r and he does everyhting on that and just wont give up on him they are very reliable

Honda CBR 125 get the 2008 onwards if you can help it because they have fuel injection so will be that little bit more reliable, seriously they are pretty indestructible, it's the only bike to have ever survived me and my riding so it's definitely reliable, from brand new 0 miles i done about 14,500 miles on it in about one year maybe 11 months, it's only the last month i had it where i had no L plates becuase i passed my test on it and they'll still do motorway speeds on it with pillion and don't sound crap like the two strokes do :)

If it survived 91biker then it must be the most spectacular, impressive and downright astounding bike in the world.

Love it friz lol, speaking of bikes surviving me my sv650 almost didn't about half an hour ago, going way too fast into a corner and i was lazy with the brakes and when i leaned the bike right over it wasn't quite enough, couldn't lean any further because my peg was dragging on the floor already only thing i could do was do a little more braking whilst leant over but the caused my bike to slide out wide and i ended up slightly tapping a grass bank which caused my wheels to run along the side of the bank but the grass was on top of gravel (wierd) and my front tyre gave way whilst still braking lucky it only landed on my leg and grass no damage no scratches, thank god for that ey! lol

Mate I told you in one of your vids, take it to the fucking track, you're gonna kill yourself if you don't. You can be talented there's no discussion about that but the road just isn't good enough.

With the number of bikes you've written off I'm surprised you've never really hurt yourself. Like I said I don't want to sound like granddad but the roads are your enemy, one bad fall is enough to change your life man. You'll go faster than I ever will in any corner I promise you that but I'll definitely outlive you if you keep this up. Go to the track, it's safe there, and you can time yourself, and really get into competitive stuff, which is what I recommend anyway. If you like dragging that knee so much, do it against others on a track.
