Signature Size

I think it would be a nice touch to promote custom signatures if they could be a bit larger in size. I understand no one wants to see a small text post with a MASSIVE signature attached, but what I am suggesting is to bump the size that the forum automatically adjusts it to up a bit. Something like 500x150 would be large enough for everyone to see while not taking up a massive amount of space on the page. Just enough to say what you want (mods, links to youtube, picture, whatever). Literally the max size would be the size of the image below. Leave some room to me creative for those of us who know how to make a .gif, or just something that sums them up in a single image.

Do you really need that? I mean if people on this forum need to see your photoshop skill to subscribe this might be wrong forum for you.. I'm not trying to kick you out, I'm just saying that you have the profile picture (if you need to draw my attention) , you can put few links in the signature and that should be enough, the only way you gone gain subs from this forum is based on the contributions you make (new topics, different point of view on subjects, new ideas, arguments) not by having a fancy big image...

Also I'm lazy and I am going to do everything in my power to stop pages expanding by 3000 pixels (20 posts per page x 150 pixels per signature) just because someone wants to show off...

I changed the rules on the size of sigs etc - I hate them being larger than they are at the moment.

When larger sigs were allowed it was a complete spam fest, now it'a a community again

I get what you're saying. I wasn't thinking of it as a way to gain subs, I just think of it like a car forum I'm a member of. Show a small picture of your car with the list of mods done to it. Not necessarily to try to gain attention (ex: subs), but to just be able to take pride in what you've done. Nor was I thinking of it as a way for me to personally show off, I just realized a typo in my original post which may have made that come across wrong. And I actually created the picture I'm using now as a signature for my YouTube banner but thanks to the new setup of YouTube I couldn't make it work properly, so I figured rather than let that work go to waste I would find a home for it.

I understand what you mean though. I get everyone has a different point of view on the subject, I like to look at the signatures that some people have, I also understand that other people can't stand them. I'm one of those people who happen to be absolutely horrible with names, so when I see (nothing personal here) a picture like dandoolittle with a fairly generic picture it makes it harder for me to remember who posted what when you go through a few pages of posts. That being said, when I see things (like on one of the other forums I'm a member of) the guy with the image that stands out in my head, it makes a quick connection for me. Just my $.02.

Hmm not really, it's one of those things that I keep tabs on and try meeting people in the middle.
