Personal Vlog Website?

Considering on having a website to go along with my YouTube Channel to link/embed my videos etc. Of those who do have one, did having it make a difference to gaining any more views/subscribers etc?

A website is what you make of it really. I highly doubt that a site that's full of vlogs will work that well. m13, RJ, 6ftonda all have sites I last time I looked, rarely updated manually etc

Sites can work if they are kept fresh

Working on one now. Plan is just to basically auto link my YouTube vids and just keep a little more info and links there.

Actually found in getting more from Google + groups right at this stage.

my face book page only has about 6/7 people on it and there the people who i don't want to subscribe to me on youtube because they want to see my videos but i don't want personal friends subscribing to me i know it sounds strange but i want my youtube page to make it without help from my personal friends i want to make it on my own if that makes sense.

I have a page which I use for posting videos but I also do blog posts and other stuff. It can be good but only if you use it as a portal to learn more about your for your viewers. JUST posting videos will be pointless as they can go to youtube for that. Best bet considering how cheap web hosting is now adays just give it a shot. If you can keep at yourself enough to maintain it then go ahead as you never know it might be useful in the future.

I have one, it makes little to no difference to youtube subs and views. But I also have other projects on it. You may want to look at one that auto embedds your youtube stuff like a wordpress site with auto youtube embedded plugin.

I'd imagine a webpage is a great idea if you decide to sell merchandise but I can't see it getting you more views/subs. Maybe if you also want to do blogs then you could combine the video and writing on a web page.

Won't hurt to market yourself more, especially if it doesn't cost much, and you are willing to spend time for each platform to make them all up-to-date, whether it will get you more views or subs, I can't say, but at least you are out there on the interwebs.

For those saying FB page suck, I don't see it the same as you do. True, it doesn't generate much views/subs, and I don't do much promoting the page (no mass invites or paid publicity or hack), but I do see the page likes go up a little now and then. What I do notice is that I get feedback via the page messages from users that are primarily on FB. Nowadays people even use FB to search for stuff, so I don't see a drawback of having a FB page.

TBH a proper website is probably going to be more useful than a Facebook page alone. I have a website, and it allows me to create redirect pages I can put on my domain after doing the whole annoying Youtube verification thing.

So I can use it to place links on my videos that direct people to my Facebook, or my website, or pretty much anything really.

I also use it primarily as a videography/photography portfolio, but that linking functionality rocks.

I can barely maintain my channel's social media. A website would push it firmly into the realm of work and out of the realm of fun. If you have the time and skills a website could be good, but only if you plan on putting stuff there that isn't already somewhere else

It might make a difference if you had say 300k+ subs at least that way it could be used to sell merchandise, but for purely for gaining subs/views I don't reckon it would be all that useful. The time alone used setup and maintain, just isn't viable. People mostly spend time on fb, twitter, youtube.

At least your thinking about things which is good. Just have to find and prioritise on how to best spend your time in gaining subs/views. Personally I'd prefer to spend time out there getting footage and editing it rather than messing about with more websites/social media stuff.

I'm good at talking about things from extremes. :p

simply put.. a website better for selling goods than just gaining subs/views, personally I wouldn't bother.

but if you feel it the right thing to do and it pleases you then crack on :) can't hurt
