....65, that is what I meant, just didnt have Google Maps zoomed in enough. Looks like it is only about 35 min or so north of where we are staying.

If you decide to ride up to the border, I can arrange my schedule to meet you there. :D

This sounds like an interesting idea. What time are you thinking of getting there Wilks?

I know I am going to make it a 2 day ride up from the coast. I will leave Gulfport on Thurs around lunch, stop at some friends in N. MS for the evening, then get on the road Friday around 9. I would like to be at the hotel no later than 4. That would give ample time to unload, get in the room, and make a run up to the state line and be back for dinner around 6 or so.

Just tentative for now, but it sounds good on paper.

Sounds good to me. I'll start planning on getting there by 4. Might be kinda tough, it's not a short drive..

I am looking at 650 miles, so about 11 hours or so. That is why I am breaking into a 2 day trip. Hate being in the truck that long at a shot.

Yeah, I wish I could do that but I doubt we'll have time. We'll just have to get up at 3am..

I would recomend Hwy 327 (i think) it goes from jasper to deer. There is some road work on hwy 7 outside of jasper not sure what ther doing or how long it will take but the road is pretty ruff.

Thanks for the heads up. We'll check it out when we get there, that's the kind of re-route that's very easy to do.

They were upgrading the "truck runaway" pit and that entire downhill stretch immediately south of Jasper and also widening the road just south of Marble Falls. I thought they'd be done by now. I rode through that section in November and there was not a delay, but then again they don't do much on weekends. Yeah, the road was a bit rough, but even when it was good you couldn't go much faster than 40 mph anyway. When did you go through there? AR-327 would be a viable detour if needed.

I'll try to get down there and check it out within a few weeks.

I was up there a couple of weeks ago. Will be taking another trip up there on the bike soon

I can't wait to get my bike back and all happy and purring again. It'll be just in time for spring/Ozarks. New tires, tubes, wheel bearings, decompression spring, valves adjusted... Then I just have to get it dyno'ed and dial in the jetting all over again and change the oil and he should be good to go!

Does anyone know the best route, other than hwy 7 of course, to get there from Little Rock? I was looking at HWY 65 for a faster pace.

65 is the fastest way up, then west on AR-206 and south on AR-7 to Marble Falls (HUB).

Thanks Ardale. That will more than likely be my way back that Sunday. I'll end up taking 7 going in so I can enjoy that much more riding.

My only issue is getting someone to watch these dogs.. If all else fails I got the parents to fall back on.

Hope to see you there again this year! We should have better weather this time.

Yeah I hope it's sunny but as cool as it was last time. So my map says that it's one min difference going to RV take 7 up than going up 65 from LR lmao(Coming from Shreveport.) Yeah right.. 6 Hours 5 min? More like 8 hours haha. Perhaps closer to time someone could meet up with me at Russelville and ride up 7. I'll toss out the option later down the road.

I'll have new tires delivered today and hopefully get a usb power port and cig port installed before I go. perhaps a HID kit.

In all honesty, there really won't be a lot of difference wether you take 65 or 7, unless you get stuck behind traffic. Traffic is harder to pass on 7.
