New YouTube channel format

Looks like YouTube is going to be changing the channel format again, I think the new one seems like quite a good idea. It will take a while to get used to it though, as with all new things.

It looks far better than the current layout. Will it be easy to use though?
I still think the older design was the best.

EDIT: Just realised that this completely removes custom backgrounds from Youtube channels.

Yeah that's a good point, but it does seem that they are increasing the size of the banner you can use quite substantially. http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2972003&topic=16630&ctx=topic

Maybe still not as good as a full screen background, but it's something.

I think your find they are kinda doing away with partnership as in the old format of it. It seems very easy to be able to monetise videos now, rather than having to earn it. Thats just googles way of keeping their user base and creativity.

I think their next move will be to move towards pro channels that have a lot more options but will cost money to run, like a normal webpage.

One thing great about this new format is that your banner will show up on all devices and not just on web browsers. Youtube as a whole will be a lot more streamlined and will look better in general. I've heard there are a lot of new features in the update other than just the new layout.
