i am impressed. Bought a pair or PR4s from tyreleader.co.uk on Tuesday. They're based im Germany. Arrive here with me in the UK today, Thursday, at 1pm. Free shipping too!!

I've never had new tyres on a bike before. Actually I may have done on my old CG125, but I only commuted on that, so aggression or speed never came in to it.

One person said to ride sensibly within speed limits and they'd be fine, just avoid getting right over in the corners. So should I slowly look to increase lean angle or just ride on the steady side of normal for, say, 100 miles? Heard that heat cycles help as well rather than just going for one long run.

Just take it steady (No Grand Prix traffic light starts) for a while, and as you say, gradually increase the lean angles as you go.

The Chicken Strips are very noticeable on new tyres, and you can easily see where you have got to.

Dry weather is best, obviously, but if it does rain, just be aware they could be slippery in the corners.

Cycles are better than a long blast, but that didn't stop me just going out on a long ride to scrub them in.

Or, of course, you could just get some fine wet n' dry paper and scuff them up a bit.... o_O

I've heard the sandpaper trick before, although it's the finishing compound that needs to be sweated out as much as that top skim I thought?

Yay for new shoes, I always get the Bridgestons T30's. Its and sport touring tire, enough grip for the canyons and long daily use. :D

Think the 023s are the recommended Bridgestone for my bike, consensus is the PRs hold the edge over them.

Trouble is there's an amount of hype and "emperor's new clothes" around tyres, often it's better to find consensus about what genuinely doesn't suit the bike.

New tyres are now fitted. My garage also fitted my Fenda extenda for no extra charge bless 'em!

Back brake feels a bit weird although not completely unexpected I suppose.

I'm not sure where my brake pedal was before but it seemed a little turned in. It was always close to the exhaust, but seemed to touch it, so I've bent it out a bit so the square end of the pedal is now square to the bike.

Bit of a scrubbing session tomorrow. Going to start with motorways and main roads to get them hot, and pick some moderate roads after that. They look like hedgehogs at the minute. Should be easy to see how far I've got with them, going by the old tyres, I seem to use most of the tyre :)

Just ride it, pilots are hardy and pretty grippy :)

They're not like Supacorsas where you need to get right to the edges.

I was running PR2s before and was impressed with wet cornering and never locked a tyre with them.

117 miles yesterday, didn't put a foot wrong and rode pretty normally, although a couple of the more severe bends I thought better of it and slowed right down.

So nice not having a shoulder on a tyre where it has squared off!

After searching this forum and watching a few vids from vloggers discussing tyres I have to thank you all. I've had PR4s fitted to the Gixxer and wow, for the first time since November I actually have grip and I've only been out in poor weather. They are absolutely fantastic so far and should last longer than the <4k I had out of my last set of bridgestones.

Grip like hell don't they? :)

I found with both the PR2s and PR4s I don't really have to go any slower in the wet. Did some bend planning training on a really wet day once on the PR2s and actually rode the country lanes faster than I had ever done in the dry :)

They certainly do. I'm very impressed and looking forward to getting out a little more and testing them further :)

I'm using Pilot Road 4 on the back and I'm going to buy Pilot Road 3 on the front, might go for the Powers on the front though, not sure yet.

Too bad my Road cost 400$ here, just the back tire :(
