New From Japan (...or Soon To Be...)

STR-Rider

Triple Rider
Hi all,

I just joined this site recently and have started to gather some tips about recording video and audio while riding. There's quite a goldmine here for tips, tricks and even some helpful reviews... thanks to those who posted.

Right now, I'm without a bike and I have a new Street Triple R coming later in September. I don't expect to really get rolling until early October, which is a great time to ride around Japan. I'm not a new rider, but I just never bothered to get my bike license in Japan since I've been here, which is just over eight years now. (Edit: and btw, getting a license from scratch if you don't convert... is a royal pain in the butt... that story is worth a blog post of it's own.......)

Anyway, I've collected a fair amount of gear and now just waiting on the new bike.

I'm based in central Tokyo, so I'll have a mix of city, highway and countryside rides. But again, it'll be some time before I have anything really to post up on YouTube. Probably the first thing will be the intro/new bike stuff. Everyone loves a new bike vid, am I right? :)

Cheers.

looking forward to your videos mate!!!

Thank you. I expect low quality stuff until I get comfortable with both the actual recording and then of course editing. :)

Oof, Tokyo is not a fun place to ride. Amazing city, but not very bike friendly.

I think that all depends on the time of day, I do a lot of driving around the city at night and it's fairly easy with much less traffic. During the middle of the day... it's not fun for anyone. That said, I've got easy access out of the city. :)

Thank you. :)

Just doing a lot of waiting right now, delivery of bike is about 12-14 days away from now. Partially my fault to due to a business trip and a short leisure trip just after that.
