My attempt to introduce myself!

Hello everyone!

I am a student nurse, studying at the University of Huddersfield. I started in September and I'm currently on clinical placement. I have been meaning to start motovlogging for quite a while, since I started watching the likes of M13 and True on Youtube. Although, I've not exactly had the best of luck. First of all my camera cable broke, then my microphone started to malfunction and then my recording unit for my camera stopped working. In-between suffering from dead pixels and corrupted memory cards. Anyway, I won't bore you with any more of that.

My current camera set-up is a MiniDVR HD from Dogcam and a Hama digital stereo microphone. Works well, when it works.

I ride a Daelim Roadwin 125 at the moment, which I have owned since I started motorcycling almost two years ago. It has been a good bike, when working (which is about 10 months per year). Has a habit of breaking down on slip roads at the moment, annoying.
I also have just bought a Yamaha Fazer 600, my first big bike. On the road in 9 days, quite exciting! I think I shall do a 'first ride' video if all goes well.

Anywho, I don't really have much more to say about myself. So I guess that's the introduction over with!

Welcome to motovlog!

I didn't film my first ride, because it was difficult enough to adapt from a 125 to a 600 without worrying about that! Plus it was dark + rainy which didn't help either!

We'll see what happens, I'll try! Although, my first ride looks like it will be at 7:30 in the morning if I cannot get my shifts changed. Having said that, you raise a good point, CurlyBlakey, I'll probably be too busy concentrating to talk! Ideally I'd want to have my first ride to Pateley bridge, or some biker-spot somewhere similar. But it was not to be.

welcome, I tried a first ride vid. apart from alot of "wow this is different, eek a corner", or just random giggles/swearing didn't say much :P but could still be fun

welcome. I remember first time riding the big bike, was shitting my pants but after 5 mins was laughing like a maniac of the POWERRERRRRRRRRRR

Hello. My first big bike, I went from an MZ-250 to a Honda CBX-750f. I was a bit unsure for the first 30 minutes, then it was all systems go. :D

True, I managed to ride it off-road for 20 mins when I got it. I think I should be okay with it on the road. The only problem I had was adjusting to the (what seems like) sensitive front brake, thankfully it is adjustable!

Hi and welcome along! :)

Better keep that front wheel down on that Fazer, it'll feel like a ballistic missile after a 125.

Haha that's what I did too

Same here, found a dual carriageway, gunned it. FAAAACCCCCKKKKK. Ease off, break, pull over, laugh, delete the footage.

(this isn't to be advised)

I know this is resurrecting an old post, but anyways...

Just had my first ride on the Fazer, and you were right. It is hard to vlog on a first ride, I was concentrating too much to speak!

It was blummin' brilliant! You don't realise how little power a 125 has until you get on a bigger bike. I managed to video it, mind. Might make a speechless video out of the footage. We'll see!

Maybe next time you could just stick it on the tank? let it film your ride ?

I would have done, but my camera is a permanent fixture to my helmet!

??, so you can't remove it ? how come you haven't used the slider/ lock ?

Got any pictures?

Well, strictly it isn't permanent. It is possible to remove it, but it would require cutting off several cable ties (I use them to keep the microphone and camera cable together). Therefore I would need to remove the mic cable from the helmet lining and break the ties. All in all, quite a bit of hassle! If anything this setup makes sure I always start the camera before I get on the road. So it isn't too bad.

And sorry, I don't have any pictures and have no camera to hand!
