Mobius Action Cam And Battery Life

I have a Mobius ActionCam, and for the price I'm actually amazed with the recording quality! Also it's so small and light, that's pretty cool.

But the battery... I get between 60 to 80 minutes, that's not that much.

Anyone has any experience in increasing battery life? For example by getting a better battery, is that possible?
Or something like a charger. But as far as I know the Mobius wont record while charging. And how would I even mount the charger in/on my helmet so I can go on recording?

Any tipps, experiences etc would be awesome!

As above, this would take a lot of effort if you can't record while charging.

I wasn't aware the battery life was so poor on these, I get 2h40m from my Hero 2014 and can charge while recording too, and I believe the SJ4000 can too.

Just dropping that comment in there in case someone comes across this thread while looking for battery life of these cameras.

Mobius will record while charging fella. I have a few of them and I'm getting about 90 minutes.

Have you got the software for it?

Yeah I've installed it. Do you need to change settings there? Or is recording while charging just deactivated when the cam is connected to my PC. Because I only tried it that way...

I know it's for Drift Cameras, but if a Mobius will record while charging, you should be able to do something like this:

I've linked the original post rather than post the video again.
Cool, thanks!

Just a note that you can get a 15000mah Anker battery pack for only a tenner more, which has 5 times the capacity.

I use one to charge everything such as mobile phones, handheld consoles, kindles and my cameras. I never leave home without mine.

I bet that looks great strapped to the side of your helmet though!! :D

Because that way, when I whip my helmet off in a rush, hang it on my mirror and then chase after the ice-cream man, I don't snap the cable thats connected to the jobby in my pocket! (It actually happened!).

Everything comes off as a complete unit.

I bought the same charger as AndyMan, only without the flashlight because I dont need that and in black because thats a way faster colour than white. Wait, my motorcycle is part white... shit.

It could be worse ACH Kind, when I showed the Mrs a PIC of the bike I was going to buy, she said..

"SILVER!? Bit that's an OLD MANS colour!"

Still bought it anyway. And I'm really enjoying the pipe and slippers I bought on the way home...

Who cares about the looks anyway, we dont ride harleys...
Actually I ride Enduro, since it will get dirty and smashed around anyways the looks dont matter.

But why is silver an old mans colour?

I've just gone down the pen style USB charger route after my Hero 3+ died on me in the middle of a vlog!

Cool, so it works with GoPro too then! I wasn't totally sure. That's why I didn't mention it in my How To video.

I'm with you. My bike unfortunately has to live outside so it IS going to get dirty and a little bit tatty at the edges. But as long as it is mechanically sound and keeps carrying me about with a grin on my chops, I'm happy!

I think she was thinking of the glut of old men that drive around here in bland silver Mercs and Audi's. Also it's not black, and it's not white. It's just shiny grey!

But hey, 10 years ago dealers couldn't even get people to LOOk at white cars and bikes. Now they're way up there. If I keep this bike long enough... It'll still be silver!!

Though I am planning a bit of a vinyl wrap fest to make it a little more interesting. I covered my last bike in Carbon Fibre and it improved the look no end.

Well I have used various USB battery packs for ages, so we all know they work on GoPro's. I'm getting a pen style one (not yours as I don't trust the brand) to mount to my helmet for convenience.

The Powerbank (PB3000M from EasyAcc) works fine, after one and a half hours I still had three form four bars left, which brings me to the conclusion that one bar lasts for about one to one and a half hours, making four to six hours in total plus the additional one hour from the actioncam itself. Cant complain about five hours of recording, actually my card only takes about three hours of footage.
I just use the cable I got with the action cam, for now I used just a bit of duct tape to fix the cable on the helmet so that it wont flutter in the wind or will loosen up when I turn my head around, then the cable goes in my jacket where I keep the powerbank in a pocket. That works surprisingly fine...
Thanks for the tip AndyMan :)
