ok so this morning i got a letter from the police about my youtube now i do upload some stupid stuff like me trying to wheelie but i got a letter about one of my byway videos in one of them there is a clip of my and a mate going down a part we later discovers we wear not aloud to and that's what the letter is about.

This means the police do go and watch our videos just don't give them any reason to have a moan iv deleted most of the videos off my youtube now and might start again under a new youtube as this one is probably tagged now.

just to say when i go greenlaneing i normally make sure we keep to the byways and in 2 videos there is the same clip of us off the byway that is what they have seen.

Do you show your number plate in your videos?

At the end of the day though, the police are doing their job, and if it was an area of SSI, I can understand why they would send you a warning. I wouldn't let it put you off recording your rides and losing your subscribers, just be a little more careful what you release to the public.

i must of shown it in on or parts and they have pieced it to gather.

i know there doing there jobs and all just you hear about this stuff in america and this letter has kinda put me off a little thinking any little thing wrong they are watching =[

When I see your government across the pond, I cringe to think that's where this country is going in the next 5-20 years. Soooo much surveillance, loss of freedom, tattletelling, etc. :( I feel for you guys, really. It's like your own government spies on its own citizens. And worse-- encourages citizens to spy on each other! They're starting more of that crap here.

Anyway, I agree with True. Just delete the offending videos and be more cautious. Or, if you know the local police are screening your videos, then troll the heck outta them! Think of something that would bore them/anger them/disgust them/etc, without doing anything illegal and while entertaining your subscribers at the same time.

Well at least they didn't do a 2am raid and confiscate your bike, I've heard of that sort of thing happening before...

Que? If you're American then I think you guys have it far worse than us. The US has to be one of the most paranoid nations in the world, albeit fuelled by private sector greed and thanks to rules put in place by sponsored politicians. I especially like the internal border checks.

As for the OP, that's impressive work by the police. I imagine they've been tipped off by someone locally mind who knows you vlog. Otherwise I want the job within the police that involves watching youtube all day!

I imagine the police would have already been watching your channel based on your other videos. Lots of what you've posted hasnt exactly been legal. Someone probably reported it rather than police scanning for it themselves.

It all comes down to how much the police want to catch you. It doesn't matter what country your in. On a side note. Cops are people too. They do all the same stuff we do. They ride motorcycles, watch youtube, etc.

The Police won't have trawled YouTube for this, doubtless some vigilante who has nothing more in their life than said AONB spends their days trawling YouTube for stuff like this and bombards the poor officer with emails. Anyone would think i've soured a bit in the past few years......

Have you lived in America or just gotten your impressions from TV? It's not like you imagine at all. And what do you mean by "internal border checks"?

@MotoRick- I think he's talking about livestock/produce check stations at the borders, we have them on the California border crossings entering the state. I can't say how many other states have these though. If you're pulling a trailer they just ask what you have inside, I usually tell them I have immigrant farm workers inside the trailer and they just flag me through.

OMG, that is hilarious. That's was near the border with Mexico, not an internal border between US states. I see it was shot in southern Arizona. Bravo to the author of that video for sticking to his guns in an intelligent and non-confrontational manner.

The big brother is always watching

1984? anyone?

damn, these kids don't recognize a good book/movie....

It's people like this guy that piss me off. He goes to a checkpoint just to question authority with a video camera and post it on YouTube. Seriously, these officers have a job to do its not hard to answer a simple question in 3 or 4 words. Just like the people who are all "pigs suck dick" and "fuck the police". These people have a job to do and if you're not abiding to the law, your ass deserves to be tased or thrown to the ground and hauled off. I'm sick of all these liberal fucks that go out of the way to mess with people who are just trying to do their job. Also, it's a law or something now in AZ to answer a question about citizenship or something from what I've read in the news.

Just like the people who don't fully understand the military but bash and harass members and complain about it.

Sorry OP, if you were doing something illegal, then be a little smarter about it. Don't record yourself doing it and put up all your information too. IPs are logged and if you're dumb enough to think that addresses cannot be determined then by all means, inciminate (real word?) away. Because idiots haven't got caught doing stupid illegal things on YouTube before.

Read it twice, once as a teenager and once quite recently - brilliant book, particularly if you understand the context of it being written just after the second world war and seeing what was happening with the US and Russia carving up territory/power.

1984 is a brilliant book! unfortunatly the copy my aunt sent me had half the pages misprinted, I have to pick myself up another one, I seriously got into that book :D

Author of that video needs to be shot multiple times, what a complete wanker.
