The sound is messed up on that recording. For some reason I got a lot of wind noise on the H2N and had to just use the helmet mic :(
 
Still sounds pretty meaty though C&C! The perfect balance between a twin and a 4. Can't really understand why triples went out of fashion with the Japanese manufacturers.
 
It's performs between the two as well.

Nice torque and the perfect power curve, enough low down grunt without needing to rev the balls off it.
 
Sounds perfect to me. Money had the final say with my bike, otherwise I would have definitely thought harder about 3 cylinders. Still, I'm really enjoying the extra torque that I'm getting from 2. It's just a little bit lumpy is all!
 
I did think long and hard about getting a DR650 V-Strom cos it has the same V-twin engine.

Might even keep it on the shortlist for next time around.
 
What do you call cheap? I want a second bike, thinking a sportyish number to offset the tourer. I'd consider a lie-flat job like a CBR or a more upright style like a Z750R too.
