Is It Me Or Does Using Belcrow As A Mount Sketchy?

So as some of you know, for my motovlogs i use a Sony HDR AS15 and i recently got a go pro mount and the skeleton case for the came to be able to get the side mount on it. My friend and i have been debating if the $20 for the mount was worth it, or i couldve saved myself $15 and used belcrow to mount it to the helmet. What do you guys think is a better cheaper mount?

I use velcro on my helmet. Then again I have a mobius camera (which weighs close to nothing). With a matchbox sized piece , I can lift my helmet (all 1600 grams of it).

Do I trust it? Kind of.
Does it work? Yes.
Should I trust it? Kind of. If my bike could go faster than 60mph I wouldn't trust it at all.

I still check if the camera is still attached. If I could choose a better mount , I would. And so should you.

You can get different types of velcro. There was a strange type on my SV650S lights which would never release the tints unless you pulled at just the right angle.

oh no lol I use the go pro helmet mount with the 1/3 mount to the side of my sony hehe im just trying to convince my friend to get himself the same mount i have, or if im wrong and the velcro is a better choice for its own reasons

Nope, velcro is applied directly to the back of the GoPro and on the chin of the helmet.

Or on the sides for a flashlight style camera.

It's good for some basic use and relatively low speeds. It's a temporary solution until you realise it's actually quite risky. And also it really doesn't like rain. Both the mobius and velcro. It will still hold but it's gets all soft and weak.

Just seems so risky as you said, I wonder why they think this is a good idea. Maybe they are targeting it for Dashcams or something?

That's a good point with the rain, power grip pedal board and things like that will work much better.
