Introducing Motolixious.

Hello to all the fine folks of this esteemed forum :)

My name is Asaf Sommer, 32, from Israel, and I recently created Motolixious.

I've been writing about motorcycles as a senior road tester for the past 7 years in Fullgaz Magazine, Israel's largest moto magazine. Started as the mule for the cameraman and worked my way up the ladder - news, columns, bike reviews assistant rider and contributor and as time passed found myself leading the road segment, doing bike launches around the world, producing videos, coordinating the off-road comparison tests etc. Life was kinda peachy :)

Should probably add that it was never my main job, maybe except when I was a student. Mostly a hobby or passion that I was lucky enough to be doing that paid not that well but I couldn't care less.

Left the magazine in January and soon figured that I just can't get away from it and creating moto content was too important for me. I started working on a blog - enter Motolixious.

At some point, I decided that working on a written blog in 2017 equals designing a new manned jet fighter plane. It's nice and might be relevant, but it's not the future. As much as I hated doing it, video is.

So I recalculated my route and put my efforts towards learning video - gear, filming, editing and so on.
motolixious the website will someday rise, but for now, it's YouTube.

As I'm based in Israel but want to appeal to international audience, I create content in both Hebrew and English, so double the fu.. hard work.

So, Motolixious is a VLOG and will feature motorcycles reviews, vlog posts, features, gear reviews, riding tips etc.

Remembered this place from when I searched something a few years back, so thought I should check around and maybe get some traction with like-minded gents and gals.

Channel now has some content in it, and working on other new stuff - some bike reviews, DGR ride and such and have bigger plans for the future.

Would love if you checked it out and I always appreciate feedback and tips.
Think I can't post links since I'm new, so you're gonna have to sweat it and look for it yourself :P

There's a Facebook page and an Instagram account as well, btw.

See ya around,
Asaf.

Welcome to the site and it definitely sounds like you will have plenty of content. Lol

YES! There's so much to talk about, ride, tell stories etc.... Just not enough time!

It's 1:50 AM and I'm dividing my time between working on the DGR 2017 Vlog edit, watching premiere pro tutorials, promoting the channel and preparing the basics for Pre-EICMA video that I want to make as I'll be there on the first two press only days to cover new stuff.

Sleep is for the weak.

Ooo, if you are off to that show can you ensure you venture over to the KTM stand and concentrate on the 790 Duke if possible? It is a bike I need (in the prototype guise, hopefully also in the production guise too)

Sure, it's one of the most anticipated bikes of the show, though I wouldn't count on it being exactly like the prototype. It has budget competition to match and be far off enough from older brother, so expect a reduction on tasty bits.

as long as the "R" version remains tasty all will be good! :D

Don't think I saw somewhere that there were talks from KTM for a normal and up-spec versions, so will have to wait and see.

I do hope that it would be a contemporary "Husqvarna Nuda" by KTM and not an MT-09 by KTM.
