How long did it take for you to reach 100 subs?

If your goal is to attain more subs, you may need to evaluate your content. Check out your YouTube analytics, note the videos that have the most likes & comments in your collection and attempt to pinpoint the things in these videos that people like and apply those things to your recipe for making a video. I'm not saying this is a surefire method for making more subs, but if you are making videos for an audience you will need to put research and effort into figuring out what your audience likes.

Another method is to forget about subscriber count and focus on making videos that YOU like, that YOU think are funny or informative. If your video is something that YOU like, then there's a fair assumption that someone else will like it also. If you are making good videos, your subscriber count will increase.

Good advice above, my time as TIGER VLOGGER 100 took about 2 wks this time round it took 2 days but most were carry over from TV. Dont worry about numbers, worry about regular comments and likes. A lot of ppl get subbed after one video with an accident or road rage and the rest of there vids are shit. Worry about enjoying it and being happy with the content and editing quality. Networking helps, FB, Twitter, sites like this. Subs will come ;)

^ what he said. I had a sub base of 45 when I started vlogging, after that it took me about 2 months to make the 55 subs to my ton. Be happy and enjoy what you do and that will show in your videos and gain you subs. You'll find things will start to snowball in time. Be patient, unless you get a viral video your in the same boat as the rest of us.

Just checked out your channel.... 21 subs now buddy ;)
Get more vids done!

Something ive learned and TRY to stick to now is shorter vid lengths with tighter editing :) Long vids are a serious turn off ive found :/

Long videos are ok IF they are edited tight and aren't full of "uuum" "aaah" "mmmm" long silences, heavy breathing etc..(annoyances). I usually like short videos so I can get through my list of subscriptions, but if it's long and interesting or entertaining video I'll kick back and watch 15 minutes no problem.

I don't really care about subscriptions to be honest. My goal was just 100 lol. I make videos of what I find interesting. If other people find them interesting then great. If not, well, I had fun making it.

Thanks man I really appreciate it!! I'm working on a new camera setup and mic placement since I got a new helmet and all!

I agree with everyone about keeping the videos short. A lot of viewers have a short attention span lol. Have to admit, if I see a vid thumnail that says the video is 10min+ I rarely even click on a video. 7min+ still quite uncommon for me to click. I try my best to keep my vids to max 3min.

100% this, your youtube channel, your content, so you need to like making it

I believe that if you make the first minute of your videos interesting, then you're more likely to captivate your audience and in turn they are more likely to share or at least spread word of your videos amongst their own networks.

Also, lots of self-publicity will help, posting on forums, replying to comments, lots of activity, all raises awareness and triggers audience, the more viewers you get interested in what you are doing, the more likely they are to hit that sub button if they enjoyed what you got them watching! - and never miss an opportunity for a shameless plug! ;)

I see what you did there DoubleD :)

Took me 6 years to get past 40 subs.

I dont think the length matters (thats not what she said). It all depends on your audience. Your typical comedy types should definately be short, but there is a LOT of 20 or 30 minute reviews around. A review of a product will attract a lot of views regardless of length, in fact the more information the better. Epic trips get a lot of views... look at motorileys 1+hr video - 30k views to his 4.5k subscribers. And then theres 10hrs of nyancat with 25million views. Cant say thats short!

I've been officially up for 3 days. I have a sub for each... granted, 2 of them are me.... But I only have 1 video... I'll be putting them out weekly though hopefully...

Huh... well I find myself just the opposite. I enjoy watching the longer ones. My last one was like 19 minutes. my next one is gonna be a little bit longer. like 22-23 probably. but there are a lot of details to cover in my topic (Dirt bike Vs. Street bike)
