How are they doing Youtube "single shot" posts?

Yep, maybe noob question of the day, but recently youtubers have been posting single photos with descriptions on their channel with notifies and displays to subscribers. Is this new? Because I never noticed it before. I looked on my channel all over the place in the studio and cannot see how they are doing this. Anyone got any tips? This could be useful for retention of my subscribers.

Do you mean the "Community" posts? I think that activates once you get 1k subs, but not sure.

Not sure, it's a new section they add under your initial suggestions on your home page. Titled "Latest Youtube posts" and it will feature these single shot "facebook style" posts from vloggers Im subscribed to and watch a lot.

Yup, sounds like the community tab, my other 2 channels don't have it, but my main one does. I've been using it recently to add polls asking what videos people wanted to watch next from me and info about new bikes that interested me.

They are on YT on PC too, under "Community", you can see the tab on my channel. I have cleared out my old ones so nothing in mine currently, but I use it quite a lot.

I'll look for something that says "community tab" on my channel and in the studio and see if I can find it thanks.

Nope. I've looked extensively and tried to find it through google. They say just click on upload and select "create post". But that option is not there for me. I wonder if it's only available to those with 1000+ subs. They don't say it's required in the description, but it's definitely not an option on my channel.

@HippoDrone what I meant was more where can I see these posts. I believe in the phone app, they are shown under the subscription feed, but on PC I have never seen them. I rarely use phone app.

In the community tab on the posters channel, you can see it in the screen grab I did from my channel a couple of posts up from this.
To get to them via PC if you don't know they have been posted, click on the home button and they will show up like in this screen grab:

It does not looke likte that, for me actually. I see nothing like this, only recommended videos on home tab. I wonder if I need to manage this from settings somehow. I must check later.
Could it be, that seeing the posts is also restricted to people with sufficient subscribers amount? Would not seem reasonable that way though...

It is more likely that no one you follow is using the feature at the time you are looking. I was posting on it once a week for a couple of months, but deleted my posts as they are now out of date so not relevant anymore.

@HippoDrone true, it could be. Then again, 7h ago a poll was posted, that I can see on the app. The very last thing in my feed on the app. But nothing on PC, scrolled down 30 or so lines.
I am also getting a feeling, that this could be varying over regions. Not too concerned about it, though. After all YT is for videos :P

BUT, and it's a big but, the polls/posts/othernonvideostuff on YT adds to channel engagement, which pushes you up the ranks of YT. So it's got value there, at least.

I'm just 715 subs away from being able to check out all these cool features on my own channel ;)
