Hey whats going on everyone.... my youtube channel is ThrillbillyCC

I have another channel which I will choose not to disclose that is unrelated to motorcycles...however, I mention it because from that channel I have been predisposed to the skills required to make videos on a consistent basis for an audience. I found out about this website from ToastToGo (thanks buddy). I am excited to start making videos on a consistent basis and delivering great content about motorcycles which is all interesting, humorous, and educational in each video.

Unfortunately, and yes when I say unfortunately I mean very unfortunately...I do not own a bike YET...I want one so bad but I am currently saving up my money to buy one...I am 21 years old and I am in college...so the money flow I have comes in at a pretty slow rate...but it shouldn't be too long.

I am considered a beginner on a bike because I have not rode on one as a driver before (only as passenger). Consequently, because of my novice riding skills I am going to start out on a Kawasaki Ninja 250 and ride it for about 6 months (maybe longer if i really like it) before moving to a 650cc class...any opinions or suggestions/tips are greatly appreciated...I am excited to meet and get to know a good number of people apart of the community...if you want you can subscribe to my channel but I will not ask anyone to do so (people who ask me to sub them apart of the other community I am involved with annoy me so much lol).

Random Fact:
My dream bike is a Yamaha R6.

As far as I understand, the Moto-Vlogging community in the state of Florida is extremely scarce...hopefully I can help start a wave of new florida riders on youtube...I'd hope to...can't wait to start entertaining all of you and allowing some of you guys into my daily life...take it easy!

Welcome to the forum, glad you found your way over here. Good logic starting with a Ninja 250r. I am glad you have your head on straight. If you want to travel all the way up to VA, my friend is selling his 250r for $2800 haha. Nah I'm just playing, but he really did just put his bike up for sale last night. 6 months should be enough time to really get the feel for riding and seeing where you stand.

As far as an upgrade from a 250r, an intermediate motorcycle would be the Kawasaki Ninja 650r or Suzuki SV650. Both great bikes. If I was in the market for a brand new bike right now, it would have to be the 2012 Ninja 650r, such an amazing looking motorcycle and has a great engine. Yeah it's an intermediate bike, but I bet I would have a lot of fun on it.

Oh yeah man omg I know! The black 2012 Ninja 650 looks so sexy with that red suspension coil below the seat haha. I would have to agree with you...I am the type of guy who would like to work my way up in cc's...with the idea that by doing so I would have polished my biking skills. I might try to go fast but I am going to think with my head and keep it on the track over endangering lives and my own. That is another reason I enjoy your videos...you are responsible and young like me.

Btw, what year is his 250?
Maybe I could arrange to have it shipped via freight to Florida! hahah!

Welcome :)
You sound like you know what you're doing, moving up with experience! Good plan.

Hello, in 1980 I lost a camera in Florida, or was it South Carolina, possibly North Carolina, certainly not Virigina. Somewhere along the interstate between Disneyworld and Washington DC. Let me know if you find it won't you.

Welcome by the way. :)

It's not called RayWilliamJohnson is it? ;)

Welcome along! And yeah I know what you mean, the new Ninja 650 (or ER-6f in the UK) is a really cool looking bike, the best looking middleweight I've seen.

You do know you can get a brand new CBR250RR for $3900 with warranty and it has a little more torque in first and second than the Ninja 250! Just something to think about! Oh and welcome by the way! :D

What?! That's crazy talk! You need to start out on a Harley 1200!

...oh wait... I think I'm the minority around here...

Why thank you :)

I believe his bike is an 09...might be an 08. You should be able to find something down there for a comparable price.

Oh no just get a Busa and be done! LMAO!

I wouldn't ever be able to do that...I'd want to try out too many motorcycles to "be done." :)

What do you mean Mr "I think this 919 is my ideal bike - ooh lookie, a CBR"? :D

Exactly lol.

Okay, let me explain myself. The 919 was a fun fun fun motorcycle. What made me want to get rid of it was the way the exhaust made me smell after riding the bike and the suspension was crap. Didn't feel like sinking the money into it, so I decided to let the bike go and pick up something with barely any miles on it. I bet if I went ahead with a Street Triple initially, I would be happy as a clam.

Haha please explain :)

Oh boy...here we go, lol.

Well...the mufflers from the exhaust pipes ended right near the tail section of the motorcycle. The upright seating position allowed for a low-pressure zone right behind my back which naturally makes any air going around me get sucked into that area for a second. You can notice a similar effect on sport bike riders who ride without a jacket, and the back of their shirt is lifted upward so you can see their back. Well, when the fumes and smell from the exhaust would let out from the pipes, that air would roll backward into the low pressure zone behind my back which made my shirts and the back of my pants smell like emissions. For some reason, the smell only happens in the U.S., most likely because of ethanol added into our gasoline. People in other countries have no problem with the exhaust smell on their clothes. Also, for some reason, the 919 let out a stronger smell than a lot of other bikes...the exhaust smelled like an old muscle car would. Many would remedy the low-pressure zone/smell problem with doing a 900rr low-slung exhaust conversion. I used a tail pack on my bike which disrupted the air flow and didn't make me smell as much, but it was faintly there still no matter what. I didn't feel like sinking more money into modifying my bike when an easier route was to just pick up a cheap and zippy 600 sportbike instead that has better suspension and a side-slung exhaust already. But I tell ya...I had more fun riding the 919 (great engine), but I just couldn't stand the exhaust situation anymore...and the suspension was getting annoying haha

That's interesting, I haven't heard of that problem before, but I think that would probably get on my nerves too.

I believe they're going to start introducing ethanol in petrol over here soon too, not looking forward to it. I've heard it can damage an older bike's engine, wears the seals in the fuel system or something :( Hope not.

I wonder if the 919 owners from over there that claim they have never had that problem will soon get that problem once the gas is changed. If so...ethanol is the problem child! But yeah, the smell REALLY got on my nerves.
