Hello MotoVloggers!

After watching so many motovlogs I felt inspired to start creating my own.

A little background info on myself:

My name is 'Mik' or Mikhail. 25 and living in Melbourne, Australia.

I have not been riding for very long, I'm really a big noob, but naturally confident on two wheels as I used to be a keen freestyle BMXer and I have some experience with scooters in South East Asia (also dirt bikes, quads years of driving, etc).

I have always dreamed to ride and finally decided this year to save up and do it. I'm a student, doing my 2nd degree, so saving up was a challenge.

During the time when I was saving up, looking at bikes and collecting my gear, I watched countless motovlogs. Mostly from Australians, but also a few of the international big names. I learnt a lot, gained a tonne of knowledge and it made me more and more eager to get on a bike. Now I have a huge ass list of channels I'm subscribed to and some of my favourites only have a small amount of subs. It's interesting how some channels remain small but offer such great content.

So.. Now that I am comfortable on the bike and feel confident while riding, I have decided to add to my riding experience by creating my own content.

None of my friends ride, I don't really know of anyone that does, so I hope that I can become part of the community and reach out to the other vloggers around Melbourne. Hopefully organize some rides :) HIT ME UP! I need some mentoring!

I just got my bike back and I couldn't wait to do a vlog during the day, so apologies for the night footage.
This was a completely impromptu video, I just got the bike and had my gopro strapped up.. so I figured "why the hell not"
You have to start somewhere :) and I was just itching to start!

I'd really appreciate any feedback, (stupid voice, retard, too much swearing etc) lets have it.

I swore a lot in this video mostly because of frustration and excitement. I will try tone it down a little next time, but I generally enjoy swearing a lot so who knows. It's for fun after all.

Hey mate, welcome to the forum!.
Checked your vid and it looks great. Absolutely no problem with night vloggers, I'm one of the kind, the entire gameplay of Need For Speed Underground was in the night and it didn't keep me away from playing it to the end. Just make sure we can see what you're vlogging about (Night setting on the camera) and you're ready to vlog any time.
What camera do you have? you forgot to mention, not that it's so important but nice to know. You also forgot to mention that you have another mod on your bike, LED blinkers! or you have a dead light bulb ;).
There are a good amount of vloggers from Melbourne and it seems like you already found one here.
I have to look hard to find something wrong with your first vlog and that will be a long intro and a little bit of dead time, but don't take my opinion as guidelines, it is just an opinion, don't mind it, it's your first one and looks good enough.:D

I use a GoPro Hero3+ Black.

Yeah, I have just installed a LED rear light & blinkers thats why its flashing so fast. Even with an aftermarket relay.. lol not sure why. I'm going to try record some footage today.

The blinker frequency is dependent on the resistive component of the standard bulbs, it was designed that way to give the rider a cue that a bulb is blown by blinking fast (or keeping the light steady on as it happens when you blow two bulbs).
To put it back on the "normal" frequency you need to add a resistor parallel to the LED light to cheat the blinker into thinking it has got a standard filament bulb. The LED lights have a huge resistance, the filament bulbs have very little.

If you're interested and know your way with electric stuff, I can measure and check on my bike to give you a resistor value to put in the LED blinkers.
 
Biggest rookie mistake, went out today and started recording... finally found myself getting into the groove and conversing.. but low and behold I had forgotten to format the SD card in the GoPro.. it filled up about 2minutes in... so I ended up talking to myself.. :oops:

There is a melbourne motovlogger meetup coming in a few weeks... friday night 7th November. Once it is set in stone I'll put up a post here. You should meet quite a few of the vloggers there!

Hey Pete! ariderslife is one of my favorite channels. You do great work.

I've seen stuff about those MSR meet ups but I'll admit.. I was a little intimidated by the size of them.

Great to see another Aussie on here. We are taking over the motovlogging world. :D;)

There are a great bunch of Melbourne vloggers out there that will be more than happy to ride with you. I have ridden with a few of them and they are a good bunch.
