My YouTube username is 91brows and I'm very new to this, so I thought I'd post here.

I ordered a drift hd170 stealth which is scheduled for delivery tomorrow, there wasn't any mics in stock but the latest that would be delivered is early next week!
I'm from Birmingham, UK and ride a Honda CBF125

Any tips on recording/editing etc would be much appreciated,
Cheers!

windows live movie maker is perfect for cutting and merging clips together, you'll do fine just don't slack on your coursework?

Hey, welcome to vlogging and the Forums =) well a few tips, when the mic turns up, try and put it in the cheek pad where the strap fastens on the helmet itself, that way It'll be safe from the wind and will pick up your voice.

What Helmet do you use? if it's a flip lid don't put the mount on top or you won't be able to use it, right side works best for me.

Allso, don't worry about the fact it'll look like it's pointing to the side alot. With the ultra wide lense it'll be fine (if not sure check out my or any other vlogger's vids) =) with visor down it should be about ligned up with the top/middle of the internal nose guard (might vary on helmets) best thing is with the drift is even after everything is stuck down, you can still click the camera around (be sure it's tight though :P) oh and remember that the lense turns too, so you might have to adjust it.

hope it helps =) looking foreward to the 1st vid

Ride safe

Well then, it's the perfect time to start seeing as I don't have to be at uni for another two weeks!

@Mikesmotorbike, cheers man I'll definitely refer back to this when I'm doing my mic setup, much appreciated! I just use a normal full face helmet so the cheek pad thing should work great, thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I have a flip lid, and it's mounted in the cheek too, so if you ever change lids it'll still work. oh and don't be fooled, if stuck properly the velcro is briliant, though instead of ripping the vecro off each time, just unclip the camera. It'll guarentee longer life.

This is the tip of the year, first thing I did was rip them apart! it still sticks and is strong even at .... 70 :) but if you want it to be absolutely solid there's no need to rip the velcro apart just find a place that the curvature of the mount fits the curvature of your helmet and allows the camera a good shot forward then peel one side of the adhesive off the velcro and stick it to your mount then peel the other half off and stick it to your helmet without seperating the velcro sections.

Welcome. For editing give videopad a try, it's free (you get an option for the free version at the end of the free trail). In a lot of ways it similar to wwm, but the next level up.

NICE !!, You know this forum could buy shares in Drift innovation, what with all the cameras we have bought from them :)

We should organise a group purchase when they've sorted out the new version, i'm sure we could get ourselves a fair discount!

once ure comfy with riding normally

cheers man, I've been doing a bit of riding with the camera on today, luckily, my mic isn't coming until about Monday, so I'll probably have another couple of days riding after that before I start vlogging. You get some weird looks with a camera strapped to the side of your head though!
