Would love to acquire a Go Pro one day for bike mounted footage. I love the image quality they produce.

You can set off 50 Go-pros with one remote! That's overkill and then some.
I bet with a little finagling, I could somehow fit 50 GoPros on my bike.

"the camera is available now while the Wi-Fi unit will be available later this year."

That's what they said about the wireless microphone about two years ago. I don't know what it is about "action camera" manufacturers but they all seem to make promises they never keep or they keep bumping their own deadlines. I waited nearly two years for a wireless mic for the Go Pro before giving up. I started looking for another camera and found one that seemed promising, the Replay XD1080. The only problem is again it has no external mic. They keep saying its coming soon but its been quite a while. I don't get why they promise things they never deliver. I personally wont buy another camera because it has a feature that I want this is "coming soon".

Their site says the wifi add-on will be available winter 2012. Does that mean January or February 2012 or December 2012?

Drift is the best camera with mic input at the minute in my opinion.

I have a feeling they mean Jan/Feb

Oh, I'm sure they mean Jan/Feb. I just don't expect to see it until December 2012 or later. They never released the wireless microphone they promised. Honestly I doubt I'll get one of these anyway. I just noticed the microphone port is useless when the case is on it unless they've redesigned the case with a hole on the side of it. I guess its time to move on to something else.

The Drift is just so damn big and bulky. Not that the GoPro isn't. Honestly I've been seriously considering the Drift. I was hoping to get a couple of Drifts to mount on the bike and a Replay XD1080 for the helmet. I may go ahead and get a Drift and just move it to the bike if the Replay XD guys ever get their act together.

The drift may look bulky, but it weighs nothing so you never notice it, and the streamline shape means you actually notice it less than say a contour.

I've used both the Contour and the Drift, and tbh the drift is larger, but it is less noticeable, the contour produced far more drag

2 questions about the new gopro.

1) does the external Mic port work with the case on
2) will it work with current gopro accessorys ie suction mount, side mount etc.

If both yes I'll be ordering one straight away.
