Been keeping an eye on the alerts system through the updates and got a couple of observations and comments for feedback.

1. The alerts isn't necessarily showing a watches thread has received a reply.

2. There are multiple alerts for a watched thread, not necessarily a bad thing to know that a thread has had lots of replies, but ther alerts can be very close together, and IMO, multiple alerts for an unread thread should perhaps be limited to 1 per 24h, or maybe 12h. I personally preferred the original system where there was only one alert since last read.

Be interesting to hear feedback from others about these points.

Your second observation is pretty annoying. Ill make one post on a thread and then suddenly I have 10+ alerts for the same post.

I also see the same thing happen with not getting alerts when a watched thread has a new post.

I also feel that the repeated notifications are excessive. Especially seeing that the notification suggests you'll only get one until you check the thread.

Do you have an example?

I meant to screenshot it, but there were two threads in the promoted section, both I'd commented on, one had an alert, the other didn't. It crops up in other areas too. When I'm caught up, I'll get a screenshot next time I see it happen.

Have you unticked subscribe in the thread by any chance?

No, I've only ever unwatched one thread and I know which one that was.

If I comment, it automatically puts me as watching that thread.

The Alerts didn't alert me to updated threads this morning.

Anyone else had this issue? Maybe a blip, maybe coinciding with the signature reset?

It shouldn't have.

However at the weekend I'm closing the forum for a few hours to update software etc

I got the alert for that reply, so must have been a blip.
