Favourite Leaning Side?

Just wondering if anyone else has a favourite/preferred side that they lean and why? i.e, prefer left hand bends over right or visa versa?

It's natural to prefer leaning on the inside corner, so left in the UK/Japan and right in most of the other countries.

This is because when you cock it up you normally swing wide, and your brain subconsciously knows this.

I actually prefer the right. I think it's becasue I initially practiced right turns and got comfortable with them. Maybe also because I'm still worried about traffic crossing the center line, which would be on my left.

As Swissy said, it seems natural to prefer the inside side. I prefer left and live in a country where we drive on the left

Not having any strong preferences on which side, as long as it's a corner I'm happy. I had a low-side crash on right turn, I thought I would be scared of right turn after that, but I don't feel that.

Yeah agree. Riding on the left I'm gonna slide into the verge round a left hand bend and not into on coming traffic. Also, cover the back break so put my left leg down and lean to the left a bit, feels more natural.

i see what swiss is saying and id agree but if u slide out your going into on going traffic.i don't have a prefer d side its all good

Oh I agree there is no good side to fall off :p

It's just that you have more chance of favouring the inside corner subconsciously.

I finally get why I like left handed turns. :D I find myself a little more confident on left handed turns. However I don't really have an issue with right handed turns either.

I have found I have a preference to left on town / city roads and a slight preference to left on mountain twisty roads (I think because I ride mostly on town / city roads), It's because taking left turns in town I can take the corner with more speed as I don't have to give way when turning left however turning right I need to cross a lane..

P.S. I only take left turns at speed when I can see all the way round the corner ;)
