'The Sky is on Fire'

This photo won the 'bike of the month competition' last month and can be found on the r125 proboards Forum at the bottom of the home page. :) I was very proud of this picture.

Taken with a sony alpha a200 with minolta 18-55mm AF lens.

Thats a nice pic!! Haha at the car show I didnt see one person with a sony slr. Think I was the only guy running a pentax

I know, Whenever I see pictures taken with DSLR's everyone seems to drift towards Canon and nikon. My sony dslr hasn't but the new ones have got something called transluccent mirror tech which apparently means that the image goes straight through to the sensor rather than to the eyepiece then the sensor. clever stuff.

seen these on some cameras, only problem i find with them is due to the mirror around 20-30% of the light is being reflected to the eye piece, so that means only 70-80% gets through to the sensor, meaning you need a higher ISO. would be interesting if you could take some test shots, with the ISO setting and lighting conditions explainded.

Cheers

I really wish I hadn't clicked on this thread. I'd love to get into photography but my camera is an Olympus point and shoot.

Either that or I try convince myself that my Samsung Galaxy S's features of a HD phone cam are good enough (but I know I'm just kidding myself).

SOme really nice pics here guys (except that MX5 in beige :? )

I need to get some of my bike in shots like the Sky is on Fire and ariderslife pic of his Hornet in an underground parking lot.

Has anyone taken any half decent still pics with their Drift HD's or GoPros? Get em up... lets have a sniff

Unfortunatly i haven't got the one with the translucent mirror but have been interested in them for a while. Ive got a couple of lenses and Might get one of the new ones this month as payday is today :) The Sony A35 is the base model, and I see what you mean with the Mirrors and I thought the same due to the transparency. Just to clear up we are talking about the camera and not mirror lenses, Because the lenses are only ever good in light, My 400mm Chinese one is collecting dust at the moment lol My A200 is about 3 years old now and has never let me down, However i could do with a new one. :D
