Took a bimble towards the coast with injury_ian and crashed just past Goodwood!

After a left hander I was in the wrong place for an immediate right. I scrubbed off some speed but it didn't seem like enough and then I target fixated on the mud off the road. I probably should have committed to the corner at that point but I've never had much confidence with the front end in the damp and so off I went!

Gear did its job and it was quite a slow off thankfully.

So just how much will it cost to convert the front end to a naked bike? Or is a new nose cheaper? Light cluster is fine.

Cheers.

Personally I think it was silly of you to go out on a ride with someone called "Injury Ian", doesn't bode well! :P

Sorry to see this Stenno, unfortunately things like this happen from time to time. Glad to see you are ok :-)

You've got a good point there! haha although he's the best rider I know. I had to wait ages for him to come back and find me, he was so far in front! :P

I need new indicators, rear brake pedal and the nose is pretty fubar. Not sure whether to scrap the bike of fork out for a new nose or convert it to a naked.

Cheers for all the comments guys :)

personal experience,

its very satisfying to get back on the same bike that you crashed... don't look at it as broken parts... look at it as "upgrade opportunities"
fix it.

Bit of tcut might help?

Seriously though, glad the bike came of worse than yourself! Always better that way!

Hope you get it sorted soon enough

Nooooo! That sucks big time! I know the feeling though, been there before. Target fixation is horrible and definitely been the cause of one of my downs.

"wow, look at that bump, better hit the brakes to avoid it, still looking at it, crap oh crap, I am down. Broken bike and collar bone!

That is what happened to me last year. After I got the bike (and me) repaired and got riding again, I was still gaining confidence when I had a big wobble on a similar bumpy corner, but fought the urge to brake and kept the power on through the mess. Had a huge wobble and went into the gravel a bit but was able to stay upright. That gave me a lot of confidence coming out of that one unscathed. :D
