yeah I got caught today doing a wheelie by the cops.

First time in over 8 years.

im not even mad.

I have the footage taken from me, for the next 7 days, i should get it back next week..

So what happend !
Did a wheelie of a set of lights,
Didnt know partrol bike was a few hundred meters back, he came outa the side street and seen me wheeling away... So the Patrol bike chased me and impounded the bike for 30 days, total of around $1300.00 in fines, +$$$$ in potential court fees.

When i told the officer where i worked, He was no longer aggressive /agitated i stayed and talked about helmet cameras and wheelies etc untill his 265 arrived (265 being senior officer).

I have the footage ranging from the wheelie leading upto when i pulled over, the officer was quick to obtain the camera and cease recording ( understandable ) -

I will get the Micro SD card back within the next 7 days.

I wont know the outcome of this untill i am in court, imo it will be 30 days loss of licence,

Guess i just have to register the DRZ 400sm now...

The joy of riding,,,

Depending how fast you were going over the limit will determine how long you lose ya licence for. Over 25 clicks is 6 months & for memory anything over 40 is 12 months+

hope ya didn't have any other wheelie footage on the SD card they could prosecute you with!

Hope you also get to keep the footage! they tend to delete footage that's been used as evidence against you.

If you want a good lawyer ask for charnica Supreme court Melbourne, she's a bitch but the best! :D

good luck!

Man that is not good, that is a mega load of fine for just doing a wheelie, but you've been cooperative so hopefully they'll go easy on you...

I hope it works out ok for you, keep us posted on how it goes.

when i told the cop where i worked he was relaxed and not so aggressive.

He actually let me delete the other footage ( lol yeah i had a few )

I might have accelrated to 100kph once i put the wheelie down i think. i cant remember

i know how you feel pal i was caught back in October went to court last month had my licence revoked got fines plus have to re take all my licencing

So no footage from you for the foreseeable future? Gonna be uploading other people's videos?

Unlikely. Why didn't you delete the footage where he caught you then?

That sucks to hear mate.

Any points off your license? Pretty crazy that you got impounded, reminds me of the hoon laws for cars..

It would have been hoon laws. Peter, you sd card should have accidently snaped when coming out of the camera. Then its just the wheelie.
Bloody australia... If you do that twice more, they will crush your bike!

I will get the footage back next week,,

i have not lost my licence, ( that will happen after court - IF I AM SUMMONED )

i can still ride around.

i will get the motard registered over the next week or so.

cause he had the camera on him,

cops are not stupid;

yes he let me delete the footage of the other vids, and only allowed me to delete the other vids.

He only let me do this cause

i was polite,

i Didn't tell lies

i work in emergence dispatch,

i admitted what i did was stupid. etc.

You can what ever you want,

i was there,

i asked if he wanted only that footage,

i asked if i can delete the other footage, He said yes .

i deleted this footage in front of him,

i then said, now i have to take the memory card out,

once thats done,

no probs.

he had written down i was doing 150 in 70 zone,

i had proof to say it was 90.

so hence why i made that decision / partly based on that,

Should've told him the footage was over 12 months old.

A cop was going to lie, even though he knew you had video evidence to incriminate yourself. Unlikely.

Are you having a bad day?

Ah jeez Pete.

I got pulled over for doing a wheelie out Werribee way.

Got saved by some lady pulling up behind the cops and saying there was a four year old running around on his own near the train tracks. I was incredibly lucky.

There's nothing understandable about that. Police are servants, end of story. They should be held accountable for their actions through any means necessary which absolutely means being able to film them after they stop you for something.

Not as bad as some people. Just trying to get my head around the inconsistencies. And fabrications.

I knew there was something I liked about you. :)

If I've watched enough of your videos I understand this is not the first time riding recklessly? Red light jumping, speeding (not just 4/5 miles over the limit!), wheelies out and out wreck less riding.

I hate to give my personal opinions on these threads because people will argue, but What are you thinking!

Sure it's all a good laugh and gets lots of extra viewers but what will your viewers say when a kid is cut in half by your motorcycle? Or your turned to mulch hitting the back of a trailer at 80kmph?

You've got a death wish mate and not just for yourself but the people caught up in your stunts.

Sounds to me like you should voice your opinion more often.
