Why is youtube now sending notifications though Google+ I hate Google+ seems like where being forced.
What's this about?

this change has been coming for ages,

cause google own youtube, they are making google Plus like Facebook logins for a comment on youtube.

they are doing this for 2 reasons,

1 combats those spam messages,

2 creates a better commenting system ( they claim )

i have noticed that its not letting me reply to comments now for some reason.

It's a joke. If they actually enhanced the functionality while keeping all of the comments working, fine. But it seems they only let you reply to comments from people who have a Google+ account hooked up to their YouTube account, which is stupid.

Completely agree! I've just spent the last 30mins trying to make sense of Google+ makes no sense!

All I can say is IM MAD. What the flying fak is going on.

Petes correct, they notified me a while ago, letting me know things were changing soon. It sounded ok, but now the update is live, ITS SHIT. It feels like people are being forced to join google+. That's not cool.

I cannot reply to ANY comments. At all.
Stupid corporations man.

I just set it up for email notifications. Easiest way, in my opinion.
Even that has been changed. You're probably only going to get emails about people to whom you can reply. The easiest thing is to let them link in a G+ account and then just ignore the fucking thing. If you do that you'll be able to reply to commenters that have an account, but not those who don't. No easily anyway.

Personally I wish they would just say 'You all need to use google+' That way it may work rather than this half baked total f**kup.

As much of a waste and a failure that I think G+ is, I agree. Though I believe the inability to reply to comments has been discovered to only apply to comments made before the change. Hopefully that's accurate.

Google got this wrong If you read the information on Google about this change, apparently we have all been asking tor this???? I haven't have you!
Funny really Google are trying to be as established as its rivals Facebook and Twitter.
Because that's not going to happen the are forcing people to use it?
You cannot force someone to pick up a pile of shit??
Bollocks
At least make it user friendly and Good

But will it be resolved? The whole thing has gone mental!

I doubt that part of the equation will ever get dealt with. As far as I can tell it's working a little differently for everyone. Give it a day or two, they may not fix it the way we want, but they'll get it stabilized.

Since the whole G+ push started I've had trouble uploading. My last video took about 6 tries before if finally uploaded. I think if you have a fairly new account that's always been linked with G+ it works fine because I have another newer account and I haven't had any problems with it but if you have an older account that predates Google's involvement with Youtube you're screwed.

Not true. It's probably your computer, ISP, or the filetype you use tbh. My account is older than G+ itself and has no issues with uploads. The only issue I've ever had is the occasional lag for YT to encode, which is never more than an hour or so.

Google is trying to unify its services, and I can understand why.
Now, since they already have a much better commenting/interaction system in G+ than currently exists on youtube (which is frankly horrible, with random comments being pushed to the top and so), they decided to make the comments be powered by G+.

Eventually, I can see youtube becoming a sub-section, or an app of G+ - it makes sense. You have your social network, and you share videos there. Also, I believe in the future we will be watching the END of youtube channels - with them being replaced by (and hopefully, the older ones being ported to) G+, to be used like the facebook fan pages.

If you think about it, our youtube channels WERE becoming social networks - people subscribed ("liked", "+1'd") our channel, watched the new posts, and commented on them. Sound familiar?
Since they have a platform that does just THAT, why not port it over to the better platform?
It IS much more powerfull then youtube, BUT it currently is a pain in the ass to use. (I dont use G+, I simply ignore my forced-upon-me-g+page).

Note: I think the way they did this was as clumsy as a drunk elefant in a china shop.

PrediePie and some other big vloggers have announced they hate it via twitter etc,

So the plan seems to be that they are going to launch a official rebellion " change back to the old format" thing.

that being said its a failure and a half its more complicated then it is. i hate google + have no need for it.

Same here, I have absolutely no need for G+. I post videos to YouTube because it (was) a dedicated service and worked well, if they fully integrate YouTube into G+ I will go to another site that is exclusive for posting videos.

I can see them integrating YT into G+ just like FB has it's own video service. I don't think they will ever get rid of the standalone YT though. Just doesn't make sense to take down a service that's as wildly popular as YT is. Making everyone go through G+ to get to the videos would complicate things for every user of YT, and I think there would be a MASSIVE decline in the use of the service. Merging them, so that the YT channel is accessible through G+ and the G+ profile is accessible through YT would make a lot more sense, and it would leave the standalone users of YT more or less alone.
