Bridgestone Tyres

What type of rider are you? Weekend fun, all weather etc?

I'm not a fan of Bridgestone really but many will say the opposite.

Some people will claim the T30 is sweet for twisties, but if you want more options, look at the Bridgestone S20 Evo.

I'm trying out the Bridgestone Battlax right now. Pretty good for street. I think the Michelin Pilots might be better though.

Ron Haslam has a tie in with the T30 with his race school CBR600RRs, and previously the BT-023, it predecessor.
Take from that what you will.

For the use you describe, I'd back lupin and SighBored with the S20 Evo.

1998. last of the carb before the fuel injectors came in. brilliant bike for 16 years old!
ya thats how mine was. I miss it and I don't. I do want something sportier, but at the same time I really want a real tourer with full coverage.
As far as tires though, I can honestly only tell you about 2 kinds. I have the Dunlop roadsmart 2 on my ninja and they are pretty damn good for an all around tire. Just don't expect super sport like grip. They do amazing in wet weather though.
I have had the Michelin Pilot Roads 2 as well and while there have been improvements like the 3 and then the four, they offer near the same for wet weather, but are fairly sticky for carving as well.
The roadsmarts you could maybe get a set for under 300, the pilots are closer to 400.

Same. Looking to get a full on sports bike next year - cbr RR, zx-6r, gsx-r 600/750. Not sure which one yet!! Only use mine as a toy and not anywhere near good enough to get knee down etc, so prob most tyres would suit me. Not commuting or touring on it so not fussed about stretching a few extra k's mileage out of them. Have been quoted £230 ($350) for pair of T30's fitted, similar price for pilot roads as well.

The only experience I have with Bridgestone is the stock tires that came on my Hayabusa. Tires lasted me maybe 4K miles.

I use the Pirelli Angel GT now, as I do more cruising than anything. And I've had them for about 5k miles and they are showing minimal amount of wear.

Afternoon all,

Anyone got or tried out the T30 tyres? any good?

Same as dan not a fan.

Will say the Pilot Road were excellent tires BUT they are prone to punctures!

Im a fan of metzeler myself and am running the Z8, not as grippy as the Pilot Road but much better at puncture resistance. Will be fitting the metzeler Roadtech 01 next round me thinks though.

How do you measure puncture resistance?

I had a slow puncture on my old bridgestone BT021 battleax which caused the tire to begin to de laminate, I still manged maybe 70miles on the tire to the nearest garage...
