Are people still watching? Are your channels still growing?

I haven't been motovlogging for quite a while now for various reasons. I'm thinking about starting again but at this point with all the BS that has happened on YouTube the last few years I'm not really sure if its worth it. Are you guys still getting views? Are your channels still growing? Would I be better of spending my time doing something else?

Oh so you've seen my channel? I have done several comeback videos. Not sure if I want to try again. Seems like every time I do YouTube decides to do something that makes it even harder than before.

I do feel like that after the youtube changes my motivation has gone a little bit.

I still ride and I like making videos. I'm just not sure if I want to make motovlogs. I thought about changing the focus of the channel and doing other things in addition to motovlogs. I'm not sure how well that would work though.

I think if doing it just for fun then yes, growth is slow but it's growth. Views seem to vary by video.

It is slow, but it is still there.
Sometimes with a drop, sometimes with an unexpected growth.

Youtube definitely changed somethings, making everything feel differently.

Do it only if you feel like doing it yourself, regardless of the feedback you get, be it positive or negative. Do it for yourself, not others. Make and post videos on YT for your own pleasure, not pressure.

You get the odd video has slightly bizarre high view counts, but people seem reluctant to subscribe.
I think now a lot of views are from smart TV as well as other ways and it's hard to keep up with all the ones already followed.

As someone said above, it's nice to have material online to view yourself on long winter evenings.
Monetisation was hardly on the radar when it was something you could do without being a minor megastar, but it' nice not to feel you are playing to an empty room too.

I hope it's worthwhile! I've just started my YouTube channel haha. I have a massive 40 subscribers LOL.

I think the main thing is, is it worth it for you? Some people are just doing it to be a famous YouTuber.... which in not very realistic these days.... But if you do it because you enjoy it, and you enjoy meeting and interacting with those you follow and those who follow you... it is 100% worth it.
At the end of the day, this is a hobby to 99.99% of us, so it is worth while if you enjoy doing it.

My channel is still slowwwwly growing. I also lost a lot of motivation when they changed the monetization rules (I'm a little annoyed that I was at like $97 when they did it and I'll never get that money now). I just make videos for me now, I don't really care if anyone else likes the content or not . I may try to post on a set schedule this summer, just because I've never done that before. I also may do more "vlog" type videos now that I have my audio sorted.

One thing I noticed with the new analytics tools is that a very small portion of my watch time comes from subscribers. Is that normal? I guess the odd videos that make up into the thousands of views might skew that statistic?

My channel continues to grow, if not slowly. Maybe 'grow' is the wrong word to use. I think of it as I'm 'building' my channel, because it's more a result of my direct actions that increase views and subscribers. It would be nice if I didn't have to do anything except post a new vid and add tags, but it doesn't happen that way.

There is momentum that comes with each posted vid, but by the rules of inertia that also slows down to a crawl or completely stops. It's to us to promote our work and give it the energy it needs.

I've posted almost no videos in 8 months, however growth has occurred, very slowly. However views have not grown.

Dont do Motovlogging to be famous, only way you're getting that right is a Fireblade, full leather suit, no plate and lots of super cars to wheelie past (internet points if you get the reference).
Just do it because you want to, sometimes you'll be making videos and see 0% channel growth, you'll just need to get used to this.
