maybe a hot tip.... wheres you mic mounted? ... if inside the chinbar or similar.... get a windsock .. and REDUCE your mic sensitivity! .. all that white noise and mini blankouts .. pretty sure that will improve with less sensitivity!! .. and play with your position a little , depending on windsock...

its makes drastic changes eh! 8-)
 
Ya, to be honest i think it is the mic itself....pretty shitty mic....and my helmet dosent have alot of room to move the mic around so the mic is really close to my mouth. As far as changing the sensitivity...I dont think i can? if there is a way let me know! But I have a few mics on order (Popular mic setups for vloggers) to see which one ends up the best! Thanks for the feedback!

maybe just a good 'deadmouse' windsock or something then?
 
I am using a Go Pro Hero 3 Black Edition, i have the go pro mini usb to 3.5mm audio jack....and the microphone is just a cheap microphone...its not a brand...im not sure exactly what it is...

i use that mic without a windsock currently... awesome while visor is down ... if partly open its ok too... but full open and its still stuggling

.. edit #2 ... oh and it might be just me... splashing cash around... :roll: .. but good voice audio is awesome!! .. bad voice is ... bad!
 
Thanks for all of that! But with the go pro you have to be careful of what jack you buy....i bought 3 mini usb to 3.5 audio jacks that didn't work due to being for audio and not a recording device. I am gonna have to ask to see if that jack with the dial to turn up and turn down actually works! That is a great idea....Also I am going to try some different microphones they should be here fairly soon and see what works best / move the mic around to the best location....I WILL HAVE GOOD QUALITY AT SOME POINT LOL!

And that's why you don't buy a gopro. I'm so glad I didn't. I already broke-out all the connections for accesories on my drift.
Good thing is, you can get decent audio investing $0 on a mic.

The only thing I like about your gopro camera is that it has stereo mic input, that means 2 audio channels. Using 2 different mics you can process some sweet mixing on your videos.
Imagine one mic recording street audio and the other correctly placed on your helmet, you say something and mute the street audio, keep silent and enjoy the sounds of the street. It's even more useful if you interact with people, you'll be able to hear what other people say outside.

I did not realise how scruffy my skid lid was....
there is a little wind when visor is open but i will sock it soon
I'm going to be doing a more permanent attachment for here. too.
