Well I just recently got a gopro and got my microphone working properly so I finally uploaded a video.
Is there any way to change the url for my channel? Ive tried finding my video or channel on youtube and it isnt easy at all.

Unfortunately you can't change your YouTube address until 500 subs, although if you link in your website and a snippet of Google code, it's allegedly possible.

Just to add you can find your own video in your video manager, and hitting share under the video player will give you a shortcode to that vid that you can paste.

Just to make you aware you need to have been on here for 3 days and have made 15 posts to put links up and put vids in the vids section. Sadly too many spammers about spoiling the forum to not have the limits.

Hmm, is there a way to change the name of my channel, right now it has my first and last name which is kind of odd.

Perhaps it's the channel linked to your G+ page which is in your name. If you create you vlogger G+ page, then you can have a YT channel with that name.

I think YT links back to the G+ page that owns it, so if you want to keep your name private, you need to create that page.

It is linked to my google plus account , no way to change the name.

So ive started a new channel on the same account and am going to re upload my video to the new channel

Yea they changed the rule a few months ago to where you have to have 500 subs to change it. I guess they want to make sure you are going to stick around.

It's to stop people squatting on YouTube channel names.

my channel name is JasonMotovlogs, I'm still surprised nobody else had used that yet.

only bad thing about that is when you search that it tries to add the space for you and doesn't show me until you click "Search instead for jasonmotovlogs" but I'm the only one that shows up after you click that.

It will improve as you get more views and interaction. It will be a while before people search you by name, but by then it'll fix it. Try adding a tag to your vids of jason Motovlogs to start with

No need to do that, YouTube automatically adds metadata tags such as your channel name and alternative search terms to your custom ones too.

Give it the search terms you want until it figures itself out. Think it's still generally accepted use, not abuse, of tags can help initially.

Definitely, but there's no need to put generic tags into the videos that are already in your title, "about" or username as all you do is dilute your tags.
