Hi vloggers! I am CaliHoser As you can tell by the post title and name, I am from Canada (Vancouver) but will soon be moving to California (Temecula)

I am moving to work with my brother in the window industry. I grew up in Temecula but was born in Vancouver. Have no fear I already know everywhere close I can play hockey ;)

I am wanting to start vlogging, once I have a bike (cbr600f2) as a way to share the Cali life and keep in touch with my friends in Canada, as I know the longer I am away the less we will talk.

I do not have a camera/mic set up yet, but I am about to read all the info I can on this site to get a set up that works and I can afford.

Thanks for the read! "And remember, Keep your stick on the ice"

Actually you'll find drift is by far the most popular here among the vocal vloggers, and there are big fans (with good reason!) of the Sony cameras too.

Interesting! I am used to all the guys I snowboard/dirtbike with going on and on about gopro
For general purpose video, nothing comes close to a GoPro.

Specifically for motovlogs though, the "bullet" style cameras are very popular but you end up getting a helmet ruining 1/3 of your view in my experience if you use them.

Welcome to the forum!

If you want you camera for multiple use, look up the mounting accessories for each one. Drift and GoPro can be interchangeable on each other's mounts with a cheap adaptor, as can any other cam really.

Rotatable lens on the Drift is a big plus, although there are bendy brackets for GoPro.

From reading up, unless you chin mount a GoPro, you may find it has more drag on a helmet than other lower profile cams.

All that said, you will get any camera to work in some way for you, the rest is your budget, so go enjoy!

This is very true. Having the GoPro on the side of the helmet makes riding at pace a literal pain in the neck.

Welcome. A bunch of info on here for you to help with the camera and mic set up. I use a gopro hero 4 black in my vids. At least you can get idea of that video quality.

For mics I use a , but I just got a Sony ECMCS3 for other videos. I'll post a review sometime in the future.

Welcome. If finances are a concern start out with an older gopro learn to use it, get a decent video editing program, and move up from there. Goodluck, and welcome!

Hey, welcome to the forum. I am in San Diego, let me know when you get it. Make a day of riding!

Awesome! I want to learn some of the good places to take some friends other than La Jolla and Old Town SD. A few of my friends have bikes up here and want to ride down to visit in the summer!

Thanks for all the welcomes and info guys!

Welcome future Californian! Glad to see you're going to be a motovlogger soon. BEWARE: it's super addicting & very time consuming but also extremely AWESOME. I recommend going for a GoPro & getting a mic from amazon, the $5 lapel one. This setup works best for me! Good luck :)

Fellow Canadian eh? haha I'm from Calgary. Welcome to the group and I can't wait to see your adventures in Cali. Last time I was in Cali was more than 6 years ago so I miss it lots.
